Yummy treats.

When we came to the conclusion that it would be best to get the doors of the theatre open before we tackled serving pizzas, quesadillas, and sandwiches I started looking for ways to make our concession selection distinctive until we could really start to rock with the kitchen. We started off with Sweet Pete’s delicious, locally made salted caramels and peanut butter meltaways but found people were still asking for the kinds of candies they usually get at the movie theatre. With that in mind we’re working toward an alternative for all of the usual name brand candies, so now if someone wants Peanut M&Ms I steer them toward Sweet Pete’s Chocolate Peanuts, and if they want Raisinets I suggest Dark Chocolate Raisins (though I like to call them N&Ns and Raisinots, respectively). Coming soon, Sno-Caps (dairy free to boot)!

The Popcorn Fixins Bar though? This is my pride and joy.

Our popcorn is totally the best in town. It’s fresh, hot, and there’s for-real butter galore if you want it. But have you tried curry powder on popcorn? Dill? Cinnamon sugar? Nutritional yeast?

Here are a few of our customers’ favorite combos:

truffle oil + holiday blend
za’atar + nutritional yeast
olive oil + parmesan
curry powder + hot mustard

Of course, you can just do a Kamikaze and dump all of the toppings on at once.

Finally, and just in time for the superbowl, we’ve been perfecting our queso recipe here at Sun-Ray. Soon enough, my friends.
